In the collaborative work between myself and Avishag Doron for ZUMU in Brur Chail, we set out to transform a simple staircase into something more—a transition space, a moment of quiet awakening.
As people ascend the steps toward the museum, they are also, perhaps unknowingly, ascending inward.
It’s not just a sound and video installation. It’s a shift in consciousness.
It reminded me of another place—Aryeh Kotler’s “City of the Wall” in Uman—where people gathered not around architecture, but around a feeling. Around something invisible that called them to stand still and be present.
In our process, nature played an essential role. The trees, the branches, the quiet wind between the structures—they weren’t just background. They were collaborators.
In post-production, we didn’t try to overpower them—we let them lead.
We blended the old with the new: raw textures with digital layers, silence with sound.
We allowed technology to soften rather than dominate.
And slowly, a realization emerged:
The Divine is not outside of us.
It is within.
Within the earth, the body, the breath, and the space between one footstep and the next.
The change humanity is longing for isn’t just structural.
It’s spiritual.
It’s not about power. It’s about remembering.
About gathering.
About listening.
This work is dedicated to the natural world.
To the quiet force inside each human being.
And to the knowing that the light we’ve been waiting for…
is already here.
Awakening.
Inside us all.
